Whether you are brand new in business or have been in business for a while, you likely know how important it is to have a strong wedding calligraphy website. A great website can not only help you get noticed by new ideal clients on Google, but it can also serve as a great “sales tool” for your business, showing prospective clients who you are and how you can help them. I recently redid my own website this year and so this feels extra top of mind for me, and today, I want to dive in a little deeper and talk about ways that I believe YOU can improve your own wedding calligraphy website today.

If you’re like most wedding calligraphers I know, you want your website to feel inviting, expressive, and memorable. When someone first lands on your website, you want them to immediately get a feel for what it’s like to work with you, from the tone in your website copy (more about that below) to your best images front and center.
If you’re new around here, you should know I’m a big fan of systems. One of the ways I like to do this is by embedding Honeybook forms directly onto your wedding calligraphy website. You can see an example on my own contact page here. Not only does this form help me send out a semi-personalized auto-responder after they inquire, it also allows you to stay organized on the backend too.

When it comes to creating a wedding calligraphy website, striking the perfect balance between beauty and functionality is key. It’s important for your potential clients to easily find what they are looking for (whether that’s information about your services or easily making it to your contact form). Remember that your ideal clients are likely busy, and a stress-free, easy experience needs to start before they actually hire you.
Too often, I see wedding calligraphers caught up in the aesthetic of their new website (and I don’t blame them!) but the truth is, one of my biggest wedding calligraphy website tips is to spend more time thinking about the WORDS you want on your website. Here are 4 easy ways to do that:
Looking for help with your website copy or blog writing? I’d happily recommend Kara at The Kara Report, who helps me with all things SEO, copywriting advice, and blogging!
Last but not least, make sure you are letting your personality SHINE through your website. There are a million and one websites out there so it’s worth taking time to ask yourself how you can make YOURS stand out.
When I say personality, I mean more than just website copy. Your website should be a perfect reflection of your brand (and you DO have a brand if you’re running a business), so make sure that your brand photos, fonts, and color choices are all perfectly aligned with your business and the type of work you want to do.
I also need to take a second to give a HUGE shout out to Maddie at Madeline Wiggins Brand & Web Design. She is the brand designer between my new website and rebrand and I could not be more grateful that I chose to work with her. The whole experience was incredible and I truly have a brand that I believe attracts my ideal clients and reflects what it’s like to work with me as a whole.
Lastly, refining your wedding calligraphy website is an ongoing journey of expression, connection, and discovery. It’s okay if your website never truly feels finished, and you constantly refine it as you go (especially if you are in the early stages of your business).
