Ready to scale your wedding business? It feels like everybody is talking about “scaling” lately, but nobody is breaking down exactly what it means (and what it takes) to scale your wedding business in 2024. But it sounds pretty good right? So in this blog post, I’m sharing my thoughts on what it really takes to scale your wedding business, drawing from my own experiences as a calligrapher and mentor. I’m excited to dive in and break down this (kind-of vague) concept a little more and show how it can be possible for YOU.
To me, scaling a wedding business means having the capability to expand with ease, without being limited by constraints of time or money. It means having the capacity to grow and increase without limitations. To scale your wedding business, you need to be able to manage resources – both time and money – effectively. This requires creativity and strategic thinking, but as a mentor for wedding calligraphers and other creatives, I also know that it’s absolutely doable. Yes, even for you!
Now, let’s dive deeper into the 2 biggest things I believe you need to do to scale your wedding business.
It might surprise you given that I work in a very creative industry, but I’m a huge systems person! And if you want my honest opinion, implementing workflows and leveraging automations is one of the BIGGEST things you’ll need to do in order to scale your wedding business. Specifically, implementing workflows and automations will help you scale your wedding business in two ways:
Two tools I use every single day in my business are Honeybook and ClickUp. Honeybook is an incredibly powerful project management platform that helps me stay organized and track progress on client projects (specifically from the moment they inquire to the moment they pay their invoice). ClickUp is my go-to task management software that I use to help plan out my daily tasks and keep track of deadlines. As you likely already know, there are a lot of moving parts to running a business!
Both tools are essential to helping me run an efficient wedding business that I can scale so while the links above are affiliate links, just know I use both of them personally and highly recommend them to anyone who knows they need better workflows and automations in their business.
Outsourcing can help you free up your time, so that you can focus on what you do best and what makes you MONEY. Instead of spending hours on something that takes up your time and energy, like designing graphics, bookkeeping or even writing blog posts, consider outsourcing those tasks to save you valuable time. You can hire experts who specialize in the areas that are outside of your expertise, so that they can do the heavy lifting for you while you focus on growing your business. This allows you to spend more of your energy and resources doing what brings in the most revenue for your business. Plus – it’s not always as expensive as you might think!
When starting out in the wedding industry, it can feel overwhelming to try and balance all the aspects of running a business. I know firsthand how it can be difficult to balance setting up systems, marketing, or even knowing how much to charge for your services. Hiring a mentor or business coach can be so helpful in scaling your wedding business, allowing you access to their experience and knowledge without going through the “trial and error” process on literally everything.
