Lauren and Steve’s oceanside New Jersey wedding was absolutely stunning, and I loved working with them to create calligraphy pieces as one of a kind as they are. I always love working with couples who don’t feel pressured to just stick to one color or style and instead create something truly unique on their own. Their welcome sign felt modern and romantic, whereas their signature cocktails felt bright and fun.
I can’t wait to share the details of this Bonnet Island Estate Wedding, but in the meantime, if you are loving the soft touches of wedding calligraphy, make sure to connect with me directly below! 2021 has been an incredible year, and 2022 is already looking to be the same. I would love to help bring your vision to life, so let’s get your wedding date saved on my calendar! In the meantime, I’ll be sharing (almost) daily inspiration over on Instagram.
I personally love when pieces get to do “double duty,” so we created a modern acrylic welcome sign that would greet guests for both the wedding ceremony and reception. If you look at the photos below, you’ll see how one calligraphy piece can look completely different depending on the surroundings. Acrylic signage is so versatile and always a favorite!
Unlike most decor elements on your wedding day, I always like to think that your wedding calligraphy is designed to be interacted with by your guests. The pieces we create together, like these paper escort cards, are designed not only to give your guests directions, but also to be picked up, held, and possibly kept as a treasured keepsake. When we discussed the escort cards in our initial consultation, we chose a soft blue ink against the white paper to complement the overall color palette and wedding day design.
Although I loved the delicate details of the acrylic welcome sign and paper escort cards, one of my favorite calligraphy elements we included were the fun signature cocktail signs! Featuring their precious dog Cooper, we created the “Cooper Crush”, made up of orange vodka, triple sec, soda, and orange juice! Topped with an orange slice garnish, these cocktails were delicious and so refreshing for this summer Bonnet Island Estate wedding.
There were so many parts of this Bonnet Island Estate wedding that has me feeling absolutely inspired (and honored!) to be their wedding calligrapher. Lauren and Steve were such a sweet and fun couple, and Jodie from the Particular Planner was a pleasure to work with, as alway! If you are currently planning a summer waterfront wedding, make sure to check out this wedding at Spring Lake Golf Club where I worked with Jodie earlier this year as well.
If you are recently engaged and just starting to dream about your wedding, let me be one of the first to wish you a huge Congratulations! This has been an insane year (with two years’ worth of weddings into one!), but I have felt so good about all of the wedding day visions that have been brought to life, and the small part I get to play in each and every one. I know that working out your wedding day budget is often step number one, so make sure to check out this post to learn more about how much wedding calligraphy really costs. Then, when you are ready, click the button below to learn more about my process and how we can work together in 2022. Nothing would make me more thrilled!
