I can’t help but smile every time I look back on Erica and Joe’s stunning boho wedding at Crossed Keys Estate. From the lush florals to the sparkler exit, every detail was simply magical. And let’s talk about the custom calligraphy pieces! I’m going to share more below, but they added such an elegant touch to the already gorgeous setting at Crossed Keys Estate. The lantern seating chart display was a personal favorite of mine (keep scrolling) because it was such a unique and creative way to guide guests to their tables. It’s clear that Erica and Joe put so much love and thought into every aspect of their special day, and it truly showed. I feel so lucky to have been a part of such a beautiful celebration of love! If you are looking for the same kind of personal details for your wedding or event, I would love to hear from you here.
PS: Does this beautiful boho wedding look familiar? It was featured in this post with fall wedding ideas for 2023. But needless to say, their wedding was so special it truly deserved a post of its own! So here we are again
As a lover of boho vibes and warm colors, it’s no surprise that fall weddings are often my favorite, and Erica and Joe’s wedding at Crossed Keys Estate was no exception. We started the experience for guests off with a gorgeous multi-piece stationery suite featuring shades of Terracotta and stunning and luxurious details like wax seals and vellum envelopes. For the couple, I created custom keepsake vow books with their names and wedding date.
One of the most meaningful projects I work on is creating a reserved seat sign (or signs – in this case!) for those who are no longer with us. These signs act as beautiful reminders that our loved ones will always be a part of our special day, and their presence will be felt throughout. At Crossed Keys Estate, I had the honor of designing acrylic reserved signs for Erica and Joe’s ceremony. Placed at the front row of their wedding, these signs were a touching tribute to those who couldn’t be there in person but were certainly there in spirit. It’s moments like these that remind me how special it is to be a part of my couple’s most intimate and personal pieces on their wedding day.
We always need to include at least one photo of the dog that’s celebrating their humans getting married, right? Keep scrolling to see how this little pup made his way into the wedding reception decor.
We sourced 9 “house-shaped” lanterns to create this incredible seating chart display. I knew I was going to love it when I was working on it in my Hoboken studio, but with the addition of bud vases, greenery, and candles, the lanterns came to life in a way I couldn’t have imagined. The warm glow of the candles flickering against the intricate design of the lanterns created a romantic ambiance that left me speechless. To top it off, we added an acrylic sign that read “home is wherever I’m with you” as a nod to Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. My heart was so full!
The vibes didn’t stop at the seating chart. As guests entered, they were greeted by a Terracotta acrylic wedding welcome sign, a sign pointing to the telephone guest book (a new trend I am LOVING by the way!), and a custom card box sporting their last name. Their sweet dogs also made an appearance on their hand-drawn signature cocktail sign!
As a wedding calligrapher, I love when I can blend custom elements with my rentals to make each wedding day unique. Erica and Joe’s wedding was no exception. They wanted a cohesive and consistent theme throughout their big day, without purchasing something like table numbers that they would never use again (not to mention – make their wedding a little more earth-friendly). With that in mind, in order to add a personal and intimate touch, each guest’s name was handwritten on a leaf for their place card. I absolutely adored the end result!
Working with Erica and Joe to create their dreamy boho wedding decor and signage was a pleasure. As a calligrapher, there is nothing quite like being able to contribute to the ambiance of such an incredible day. Their fall wedding at Crossed Keys Estate was the perfect setting for the romantic and personal touches we added to their decorations. When I met Erica and Joe, I knew their love story was beautiful, and it was an honor to help bring their vision to life. If you are searching for a wedding calligrapher to add a personal touch to your big day, please don’t hesitate to contact me here. Dates are already filling up for 2023!
