After a wonderful holiday season with my sweet puppy, it feels only fitting to ring in the new year featuring one of my favorite dog-friendly weddings in New Jersey last year. Elissa and Brendan are such a sweet couple and I had an absolute blast creating unique and custom pieces for their gorgeous wedding at Ballyowen Golf Club last summer. If you have been looking for timeless outdoor wedding inspiration (or – ideas on how to include your own fur baby in your wedding decor), this one is for you!
You’re in the right place. And because it’s always a little hard to humblebrag about myself, I just have to share the sweetest review that Elissa and Brendan left me below.
“Where to even start?!…
Alane’s ability to capture our love and wedding inspiration on all of our wedding signage was flawless and truly made our big day come to life! Alane was highly organized, professional and in-tune to our specific vision throughout the entire process (which was so needed after postponing our wedding a whole year!)
She absolutely loves what she does and was just as excited to execute our designs as we were to see the final products on our beautiful wedding day.
I would 100 percent, hands-down, recommend Alane’s services to anyone looking for a calligrapher for their wedding day!!”
When I started working with Ellisa and Brendon, we were planning and dreaming about their spring 2020 wedding. After being forced to postpone, it was so rewarding watching the romantic and timeless wedding ceremony details we envisioned finally come to life on August 7th, 2021. Elissa loved the look of white painted acrylic (as do I) so we kept that front and center as we began to choose pieces for her wedding day. Standing at the wedding ceremony site at Ballyowen Golf Club was a welcome / unplugged ceremony sign, reminding their guests to put their phone away and enjoy remaining present during their ceremony.
When we started to work together to finalize the wedding decor details for their new wedding date, one of the things we couldn’t help but add to their welcome sign was that it was “worth the wait”. This stunning white painted acrylic welcome sign warmly welcomed their guests, and their florist added an envelope of greenery around it.
Although Elissa and Brendan love the look of timeless and classic wedding details, they didn’t want their wedding to look like everyone else’s or feel like just because they loved the look of white acrylic it was all they could use. This is something I talk a lot about here, so I will spare you the soapbox and just say this: your wedding style should excite you, not limit you.
I love to mix and match different textures and use different mediums to create something that flows well together but still lets every piece stand on its own. I loved that Elissa and Brendan trusted me to execute their vision of keeping their decor light and clean while using mirrors, acrylic, and handmade paper inside of gold frames. This might seem like a lot, but we made sure that everything flowed seamlessly together by keeping the writing consistent and using gold accents throughout the pieces.
Last but certainly not least, we wanted to include an ode to her sweet Frenchie Lillie. We included their sweet fur baby in the bar signage – guests could choose from a Dog-tor McCollum or a Ladie Lillie for their signature cocktail to enjoy! We think Lillie would approve, no?
I hope you enjoy Elissa and Brendan’s dog-friendly wedding in New Jersey as much as I do. I love working with incredible couples and this wedding was so much fun to bring to life. If you are recently engaged and in the throes of wedding planning looking for all the information (and inspiration), let me be the first to wish you a big CONGRATULATIONS. If you are looking for a wedding calligrapher, I would be overjoyed to be considered. I’m booking fast for 2022 so once you set a date, make sure to connect directly with me here.
