Words like “perfect” and “fairytale wedding” are used so frequently in the wedding industry that they can start to lose their meaning, but when I look back at Maria and Aaron’s wedding at Stone House at Stirling Ridge, I can’t seem to think of any other way to describe it! I’ve talked about the Stone House at Stirling Ridge wedding venue before on the blog (make sure to check out this post with a few of my other favorites if you are on the hunt for a wedding venue!), but Maria and Aaron brought the space completely to life and made an already gorgeous venue even more incredible. From start to finish, their wedding day looked absolutely ethereal. With a boho flair, warm color palette, and an abundance of incredible personal details, I can’t wait to share their summer wedding on the blog today!
When creating the wedding ceremony design, we started with a welcome sign and “unplugged ceremony” sign (my personal favorites!) and went from there. The ceremony space at Stone House at Stirling Ridge was brought to life with Maria and Aaron’s warm terracotta and rust color palette. For their signage, we used painted ivory acrylic and copper ink to tie in the color palette with the rest of the space. I always add vows books because – let’s be honest – at the end of the day your vows are what really matter. These books make an absolutely treasured keepsake. We also created coordinating “reserved” signs for the front rows that matched the other signage! Everything flowed together effortlessly.
I always LOVE a good seating chart but Maria and Aaron’s seating chart display was something my boho heart could only have dreamed of. They brought the “wow factor” of a more elaborate escort card display and combined it with the practicality of a seating chart. I originally wasn’t going to do their seating chart (they had hired someone else before we originally spoke!) but when that vendor needed to cancel at the last minute, I made sure to jump into action. Truthfully, I couldn’t wait to be a part of it!
When working with a calligrapher, I usually recommend having all of your pieces created by the same person. It really does help bring everything together, and this seating chart display looked like a natural addition to the rest of their wedding day signage and decor. As you can tell, I was obsessed!
What happens after guests find their table number? Maria and Aaron created an absolutely jaw-dropping reception space, with over-the-top florals, greenery, pampas grass and so much more. There were luxury touches at every turn – from velvet sweetheart chairs to a whopping 6 tier wedding cake on display. For their reception, I created a signature cocktail signs for the bars (featuring their sweet dog Macie, naturally!) and an in loving memory sign for a table dedicated to loved ones who couldn’t be there. I also created table numbers with the same painted white acrylic background and copper ink as the rest of the wedding signage.
Over the past few years, couples have leaned toward more classic wedding color palettes (all white weddings, or white/greenery/blush combinations have been popular for a while!), and often couples I work with will choose a clear or frosted acrylic with white ink. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the combination, but I do always get excited by the opportunity to play with color. Based on what I am seeing 2022 couples request, I think this gorgeous copper ink is going to get some use this year!
Overall, this Stone House at Stirling Ridge wedding took over my whole heart, and it’s only partly because the venue was so beautiful. Maria and Aaron were an absolute joy to work with, from start to finish, design to execution. I loved helping bring their vision to life with custom, unique pieces that sprinkled throughout their day (hopefully) delighting their guests at every turn. Like I said at the start, it was absolutely idyllic. My hope is that you’re reading this and are feeling inspired to start brainstorming YOUR handwritten touches. My calendar is already limited for 2022 so please know, it is never too early to get started. “We hired Write Pretty For Me to handle all of our wedding signage, which initially only included: welcome sign, no photos sign, signature drinks signs, reserved signed, and table numbers. When one of our other vendors fell through with our seating chart display 2 weeks before our wedding, Alane did not hesitate to complete the additional request. We loved working with Alane to bring our vision to life. She is responsive, professional, flexible, and thorough. The signage she created added a perfect touch of personalized details to our wedding day.”
