Rock Island Lake Club is one of my favorite New Jersey wedding venues, so when Christine and Mike reached out to chat about their gorgeous winter wedding, I was beyond thrilled. Together, we created so many uniquely stunning pieces – from a telephone guest book to a 3-dimensional seating chart (that was an absolute wow factor). If you have been dreaming about a winter wedding (or just want stunningly fairytale romance wedding inspiration), I can’t wait to share Christine and Mike’s wedding with you! When couples start to consider their wedding decor, they often immediately go to the wedding reception. After all, that’s where you’ll spend the most time and there are a lot of places to create a wow factor for your guests. With that said, I do usually recommend at least two things for your wedding ceremony: custom vow books (I promise these will become a treasured keepsake!), and a welcome sign! For Christine and Mike, we used a blue that would bring out the stunning monochromatic blue color palette they chose for their wedding party dresses and groom’s suit.
Don’t forget – you can move the welcome sign to your reception to have your wedding decor pieces work a little harder for you. Click here for a few more of my favorite repurposing ideas.
I love seating charts of all shapes and sizes. After all, what other piece of wedding decor can you guarantee that every single one of your guests will see? When couples come to me with visions of something a little unique (and better yet – 3-Dimensional!), I swear my heart does a little happy dance. That was definitely the case for Christine and Mike’s seating chart display. Christine and Mike wanted a romantic, fairytale vibe for their wedding day and this seating chart definitely brought in some “Beauty & the Beast” vibes.
Love this look as much as I do? These acrylic pillars are available to rent for couples who book me for their day-of details! A friendly reminder that sometimes renting pieces can be a great way to save money AND have a more sustainable (earth-friendly) wedding.
Although I love custom calligraphy, not every piece needs to be unique. Christine and Mike created so many “wow factor” experiences for their guests between the seating chart and guest book (keep reading!), that for the table numbers, we kept things simple with rented table numbers. A perk to hiring a wedding calligrapher who offers rentals? Your table numbers look custom since they match the rest of your decor! At their wedding tables, the stunning florals and abundance of candles were free to take the spotlight!
For Christine and Mike, we created not one, not two, but three different signature cocktail signs. Two were for the bar (of course!) and one was on display at a “Hot and Buttered” rum station (the absolute perfect signature cocktail for a winter wedding!). We kept things cohesive by using handmade paper with watercolor illustrations for each.
I absolutely love working with creative couples! With this vintage pink telephone, I created a guest book sign instructing guests to leave a message for “The Gasts”. I have to admit – I love this idea. It’s so fun and compared to a guest book that might leave you with a lot of “Congratulations” from your less wordy friends, a telephone guest book will leave you hearing the joy in your family and friends’ voices for many years to come! Plus – it’s so fun!
As you can tell, it was an incredible wedding day at Rock Island Lake Club. Christine and Mike were such a joy to work with throughout and I love how their fairytale winter wedding came together just as they had imagined. If you are dreaming of romantic wedding day details (or have another wedding day vision in mind!), let me just reassure you that it’s truly never too early to reach out. My availability is already quite limited for 2022 and space is starting to book up for 2023 (a few months are fully booked already!).
