I can’t believe we are wrapping up another incredible wedding season here at Write Pretty for Me. As I look ahead to see what’s coming in 2024 wedding trends, I can’t help but feel a little giddy. This past season was one of my most creatively fulfilling yet, and my couples and I have SO many exciting things coming up for their 2024 weddings.
Today, I’m sharing the top wedding trends I’m seeing as a wedding calligrapher, and sharing a few ideas on how you can take the trends and do them YOUR way. #1 Personal Details are Everywhere
While this has been a trend for a while now, it’s incredible to see how couples seem to infuse more and more of themselves and their love stories with each passing year. Personally, nothing makes my heart happier than when I help my couples craft meaningful wedding details that reflects their unique story – not matter how modern or timeless their wedding vision is. #2 Vintage + 70’s Inspired Wedding Ideas are Growing
Vintage wedding themes have been gaining in popularity in the last few years, and more specifically this year, many couples are looking for ways to incorporate ’70s or ‘groovy’ touches into their special day. Retro fonts are becoming a go-to choice for stationery and signage, with bold styles playing off the classic aesthetic of a vintage-style wedding.
Whether it’s a revival of a classic ’70s color palette, or a modern take on the decade’s floral patterns, adding fun, vintage elements to a wedding is always a great way to make the occasion unique and memorable for all involved. #3 Keeping Traditions… But Putting a Modern Spin on Them
I feel like we went through a time where everyone was throwing every tradition out the window, but in the last year or so couples are bringing some of those classic wedding elements back… with a twist. One of the biggest ways I’ve seen this come back is with these fun “phone booth” guest books. They give guests the chance to leave their well wishes in a creative way and provide couples with an adorable display piece for their home.
#4 Having Fun With Bar Signs
At Write Pretty for Me, creative bar signs have been a staple for some time so I’m excited to see this showing up in 2024 wedding trends. I’m obviously a big fan! But as time has gone on, more and more couples are starting to get creative with their bar signs and show off their personalities. From custom-made signs with hand-painted fur babies or cocktails to vintage and unique pieces, couples are finding innovative ways to stand out. I am so ready to have more fun with these small but mighty decor pieces in 2024!
#5 Everything is Peachy
We can’t talk about 2024 wedding trends without talking about color palettes. Pantone announced their color of the year for 2024 as “Peach Fuzz” and honestly, this pastel hue has been a staple in the wedding industry for some time now. I am expecting this shade to blow up in 2024 and it will be interesting to see how it fares in gorgeous light spring wedding florals, and moodier fall occasions. It’ll be gorgeous in either and I love seeing such a versatile shade take the center stage!
#6 Guest Experience is Paramount, and That Means More Signage!
In the world of 2024 wedding trends, couples are showing their guests an exceptional level of care and thoughtfulness. Couples are ensuring their guests have a great experience by providing plenty of signage to help them know exactly where they’re supposed to be and what they should do.
On top of that, I’m also seeing couples finding unique ways to show off their personalities and show gratitude to their guests. From personalized place cards to unique seating arrangements, couples are making sure their guests feel extra special. This is one of my favorites of the 2024 wedding trends!
#7 An Increase Emphasis on Supporting Local
One of the most exciting wedding trends I’m seeing is the priority of supporting local businesses. This is most evident when looking at catering and the rise of farm-to-table catering, which is becoming increasingly popular. Couples are now not only looking for fresh, local ingredients in their food, but also for locally sourced materials in their wedding decor.
From furniture and centerpieces to specialty pieces like custom-made signs and unique gifts for guests, couples are making conscious choices to support local businesses to create unique and meaningful weddings. This is not only beneficial to the local economy, but also to the couple as they get to support something they care about (and share their favorite local finds with their families and friends).
