With restrictions on larger gatherings, microweddings have become a trend these last few months. While many couples have postponed their larger celebrations to next year, just as many have decided to celebrate their love with a microwedding, elopement, or minimony this summer and fall! I’ve loved consulting with my brides and grooms to find the perfect details for their intimate weddings. Just because your celebration might be smaller than you originally imagined, doesn’t mean you need to skimp on special details that will make your wedding truly and uniquely yours! From welcome signs that double as home decor to individual place cards to make your guests feel extra special and loved, here are nine of my most requested wedding calligraphy ideas for small weddings!
Whether you’re mailing 200 invitations or two dozen, your wedding stationery is the perfect place to add a personal touch. Excite your guests with an invitation suite that is so perfectly you. A smaller guest list is no reason to miss out on the opportunity to have a beautiful keepsake for your wedding day! A custom wedding invitation with calligraphy wedding envelopes sets a beautiful tone for your NJ microwedding or minimony.

Your intimate wedding may be the first time you’re seeing many of your loved ones, so give them the warmest welcome with a custom welcome sign! There are so many styles to choose from to fit your vibe: The calligraphy can be done on mirrors, windows, wood, and all different kinds of acrylic. One of my favorite things about a custom wedding welcome sign? You can repurpose it! After Rachel and Brian’s wedding, we transformed their window welcome sign into a special memento for their new home.

A minimony doesn’t mean you have to miss out on fun getting ready photos! Make sure your photographer captures all your beautiful bridal details. A custom bridal jean jacket is the perfect accessory, especially for brides who have turned their larger wedding into a more intimate affair. Plus, a cute jacket is ideal for outdoor weddings if it gets a little cooler at night!

Yours vows are one of the most important parts of your wedding, whether you have hundreds watching as you make these promises or if it is just the two of you. Memorializing your vows through calligraphy is such a special touch. Not only will you have a handy and beautiful “cheat sheet” during your minimony, you’ll also be able to frame and hang your vows in your home to remember for years to come.

Don’t miss out on the perfect time to show off your new last name! I love creating custom last name wedding signs for couples. These signs make for perfect wedding decor and just like welcome signs, can be created on almost any material! After your NJ microwedding, your last name wedding sign can be displayed in your home.

Give your guests the VIP experience no matter how big your list is. If you have a smaller guest count, place cards with first names only can be such a sweet and intimate touch to your microwedding tablescape. Wedding place cards can match your stationary for the perfect ambiance.

Another lovely detail for your microwedding tablescape is a custom calligraphed menu. A smaller guest list means you can put more attention into all the details that bring your wedding vision to life!

Will you be toasting your minimony with signature wedding cocktails? A wedding cocktail sign can be a fun addition to your decor. Wedding bar signs are especially helpful if you have a limited bar at your microwedding: simply list the available drinks for your guests to easily choose from.

Your intimate New Jersey wedding may require some social distancing. Remind your loved ones to be a little more conscientious while celebrating with a social distance wedding sign. This is definitely one calligraphy item I never thought I would be making, but I am so happy to be able to create custom decor for my wonderful couples!
Your microwedding can be everything you dreamed with personal details and special touches! A limited guest list doesn’t mean limits on the perfect celebration with your loved ones.
